Question by : 3br fixer-upper FSBO Illinois…advice?
I live in the Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois. A community of just under 500,000 population. I have a 3br home in “C- condition”. Old siding, old windows, old furnace…..new paint, new floors, new appliances etc. I spoke to a real estate agent who said for his 7%fee, his advice would be to ask for a ,000 price and expect that it would sell within a month to a “professional house investor” who would probably do all of the siding/window type things and then resell it.
My question is could I expect these same results by listing it myself. I think ,000 without a 7% fee sounds better than ,000 – 7%. If so do you have any advice for listing it….what are some good places to list as far as exposure vs cost. Ive heard of this MLS…not sure what it is or what it costs or what it provides. Finally, can you also comment on what type of fees and approximate ammounts I can expect to pay at closing and just any other cost saving measures I can try to wiggle into the deal. Thanks in advance!!

That’s sounds to low, I would consider getting your appraised by an expert. I just sold my home and got more than it was actually worth by learning a lot of information from a real estate expet named Ron. It’s a to joing, but you learn so much information and have access to a Q & A discussion board with numerious real estate expers. I advise you check it out, it should help answer you question.
